Dr. Perry specializes in the treatment of valvular related heart disease, mechanical assist devices, surgical treatments for atrial fibrillation, and advanced coronary artery disease. Dr. Perry received his his cardiothoracic surgery training at the University of California Davis (UCD) in Sacramento, CA. After finishing the UCD program, he did further training in heart/lung transplantation and mechanical assist devices at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, the highest volume heart transplant center in North America. Prior to arriving on the central coast in 2019, he served for several years on the cardiothoracic surgical faculty at UCD where he further refined his surgical and leadership skills in addition to teaching and research.
Dr. Perry has had a pivotal role in advancing therapeutic options for valvular heart disease on the central coast, including complex valve repair and minimally invasive therapies. Additionally, he has helped launch programs in Extracorporeal Life Support (ECLS/ECMO) and minimally invasive surgery for atrial fibrillation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
